Tracking the nutritional composition data of crops from farm to table

At the recent International Conference on Agricultural and Food Engineering 2018, Nur Marahaini Mohd Nizar, one of CFF CropBASE research team, presented a paper on ‘Linking data across the value chain of underutilised crops – a multidisciplinary approach’. The paper was also published in Food Research

Nur Marahaini presented her work which tracks the nutrient composition data of the agricultural value chain - from farm to table. This is made possible in a one-stop platform that allows users, such as farmers and food producers, to access nutrient information in the value chain - from planting, harvesting, food production to consumption. This research is part of CFF’s continuous efforts to make data on underutilised crops more widely and easily accessible. “This research does not stop here. We plan to further expand it to include storing data on consumer acceptance and marketing of underutilised crops products.”
